Openbare of publieke sector
De openbare sector wordt ook de publieke sector genoemd. De werknemers binnen de openbare sector zijn meestal ambtenaren. De overheid is de grootste werkgever van het land. Omdat er door de verschillende overheden op heel veel terreinen diensten worden aangeboden, zijn er heel wat beroepsmogelijkheden en dat op verschillende niveaus en in verschillende statuten.
Statuut Vlaamse leraren
Leraren en ook andere personeelsleden die werken op scholen, hebben niet hetzelfde statuut als (Vlaamse) ambtenaren.
