Sleutelcompetentie: Nederlands
In deze sleutelcompetentie is er aandacht voor het gebruik van het Nederlands als mondeling en schriftelijk communicatiemiddel. De focus ligt op de communicatieve vaardigheden lezen, luisteren, schrijven, spreken en interactie in verzorgd, passend en algemeen verstaanbaar Nederlands. Daarbij moeten de leerlingen strategieën leren inzetten om de communicatie te optimaliseren, zoals voorkennis inzetten, tekstverbanden herkennen of de betekenis van onbekende woorden afleiden uit de context.
Nederlands als taalsysteem
Ter ondersteuning van doelgerichte communicatie moeten de leerlingen ook inzicht hebben in de kenmerken en principes van het Nederlands als taalsysteem. Het gaat concreet over spraakkunst, woordenschat, betekenissen en spelling. Er is ook aandacht voor taalvariatie en registergebruik. Nederlands als exponent van onze cultuur en maatschappij is ook opgenomen in deze sleutelcompetentie. Voorbeelden daarvan zijn inzicht in taalgedragsconventies en het leren doorprikken van stereotypering.
Gedichten in de klas
In lessen Nederlands wordt er ten slotte ingezet op literatuurbeleving: via een 'tekstbelevende' aanpak leren de leerlingen gedachten en gevoelens verwoorden bij het lezen en beluisteren van literaire teksten zoals gedichten, kortverhalen en filmfragmenten. Op een abstracter niveau is er ook aandacht voor literaire analyse.
