Herita: The Flemish National Trust

Herita has the privilege of managing and restoring valuable historical sites in Flanders, with the support of many volunteers. In this way, our beautiful, but often fragile monuments - which tell so much about our history - are preserved for future generations.

Every year, Herita organizes Open Monument Day, the largest one-day event in Flanders. Heritage Day takes place the second Sunday of September and is completely free. More than 700 activities participate each time. Visitors can discover how the heritage sites of the past are preparing for the future.
