In 2006, Leuven for first class city. The new concept, an active two-day heritage in the city, offers a variation on the famous forest, sea or snow classes.
Through workshops, study tours, stories and experiential activities in surprising locations browse students in the fascinating history of the city on the basis of the preserved heritage. That way they can not only enjoy the amazing cultural heritage, but they also gain insight into contemporary developments of a city.

Leuven city Classes focus on the third grade primary school and these students want to introduce you to Leuven from the period of the late Middle Ages. Between 1200 and 1500 Leuven became urban center and it was the best of Brabant town. Monuments, collections and stories from and about the (late) Middle Ages in Leuven awaken this fascinating period back to life. In the evening all participants sit down to a medieval banquet and is subsequently overnight at the local youth hostel.

The heritage actors of the city of Leuven battles with city classes joined forces to students in the third grade of primary education to offer a two-day comprehensive program on the theme of the medieval city. This two-day program aims to demonstrate on the basis of a number of themes how town like Leuven was determined and by this time.

Participants learn the meaning of this medieval heritage of a medieval city in a playful and fun way. Is thereby given how this heritage today still has a place in society and how important that tomorrow will be even.
