We zoom in on the prevention pillar within the integrated approach to reading problems.

The negative PIRLS results made full media coverage. The reading level of our Flemish ten-year-olds reached a dramatic low. Will you help tackle this?

Guest speaker Marita Eskes will take you through a fascinating lecture through effective interventions that you can use in reading education.

The Dutch Marita is a senior educational advisor for primary education in the field of language and reading education. She worked for years as a teacher, reading coordinator and remedial teacher. She knows better than anyone how to translate theory into practice when it comes to achieving high-quality education. Marita is the author of the book Technical reading in a continuous line, which won the prize of The best educational book in the Netherlands in 2020. Marita published numerous relevant educational studies. Her most recent book (2023) is Reading Comprehension in a Continuous Line .
