Sanitary and heating: West Flemish school competition
The plumbing and central heating installers have been struggling for years to fill their vacancies. The installers continue to need skilled workers for their sector.
The Construction West Flanders Confederation is aware of the problems and has been promoting the profession of plumbing sanitary engineer for several years through a unique school competition. More young people must find their way to the technical school and especially to the training of installers.
The school competition focuses on cooperation between the school and the business world. The contact between the installers and the schools is essential.
The objective of the test is to assemble an installation with various devices and pipes, whereby the theory is put into practice. The installation must be set up in a team with the entire class. This installation is then thoroughly reviewed and assessed at the end of the school year. The practical knowledge of the students is also tested.
